Luis Ordoñez is a farmer from Amatenango de la Frontera, Chiapas, a stone’s throw from Huehuetenango, Guatemala. His 26 hectare farm is quite large by Mexican standards and he has been working the land for 25+ years. He cultivates more than a dozen different varieties and is highly focused on quality production. His youngest son, Meynor, helps him in all aspects of farm management. At one time, he would have said his highest goal was to double the size of his farm but with a lack of labourers in the area, he now hopes to help farmers around him by building a centralized wet mill.
